great david pilpel again. so three items here regarding the public correspondence about what department eight public hearings . i'm happy to work with david steinberg on hearing procedures . i have some familiarity with that. i think there are some principles that should apply and i yeah, i in any event, i'm happy to work with david steinberg on that. the next item i think the advanced calendar still needs some work in terms of format, and i didn't see the update on workforce development associated with the hr report, but i hope that that's coming at the next meeting on october 20th. in response to a request from the commission. i think commissioner turner and finally , as next year's calendar is being developed, understanding that room available city is limited, i would urge you to consider holding these meetings actually, earlier in the day in my experience, public works is kind of an early in the day department. and so i think starting meetings just after eight, as soon as you could get in the building and

great david pilpel again.so i'm speaking as an individual, but i refer youleer from the sunshine ordinance task force. it's in the packet. i agree that this proposal is an overreaction to some specific negative and in completely inappropriate remarks. however, i believe eliminating remote public comment would severely restrict participation to those who can be there. and you've heard from other speakers about that, other public agencies have effectively dealt with the small number of problematic commenters. i think there are legal, practical and technical ways to do that here, including more active moderation and muting and requiring a real name, email address or phone number for remote public comment . this should not be an either or choice of how things are now or not at all. we should find a way to fix things and the sunshine ordinance task force would like to help solve the problem. i urge you to reject the motion here or let's mend it and not end it. item seven today would codify remote public comment for

david pilpel again. so on this item, while there is some more discussion of stakeholder engagement in the staff report, it just raised some additional questions for me. if the community asks for various things, it didn't really commit more than just, oh, we're going to, you know, maybe look into it . so i'm i'm just concerned about the lack of meaningful discussion about stakeholder engagement in staff reports. it is not particularly clear to me why these changes are being pursued right now, given what staff said earlier about about staff availability and other things. this just doesn't seem like the highest priority to me. i did hear david hooper speak a few minutes ago and i heard him speak at the friday hearing on this that essentially that this project by itself will not improve j church reliability. and i agree with him. i think that is true. and he has a lot of experience since as a transit supervisor for central control dispatcher, train controller manager for it seems to me that there really are
