police say then-17-year-old david rosen was speeding when his car jumped the sidewalk. hitting and killing a father and his 9-year-old daughter two years later the family has filed a civil lawsuit against rosen and his family. kron 4's scott rates sat down with attorney michael cardoza and shows us what's next for his clients. this happened about two years ago, obviously a very traumatic thing. the first question is how is the family? well having gone through this experience you can imagine how devastating that was. they are doing a lot better today. tell me about the lawsuit your filing on the family's behalf. they're dealing with a wrongful death case against the driver, and a negligent in trust and against the parents. in california, there is a law that says when parents negligently in trust a vehicle to their children, the most they can be held liable for is $30,000. the other thing that compounds this tragedy is that the juvenile is parents did not have insurance on the car. they knew he was a reckless driver as their neighbors had complained about this. still they
