. >> let's get right to david sanger, cnn political and national security analyst and white house correspondent for the new york times. also here, aaron david miller, former state department middle east negotiator and senior fellow for the carnegie endowment for international peace, along with retired colonel cedric leighton, also a cnn military analyst. i'll begin with you here, david astounding idea, to say the least, that the u.s. would take over the gaza strip. is this even remotely possible? >> well, i guess it's remotely possible. but the obstacles to it are huge legal, moral. um, and practical. um, first of all, you take a developer, you put a developer in front of a problem. they're going to see, you know, a hotel solution. you put a diplomat in front of the same problem. they're going to see a diplomatic solution. uh, you know, you put the pentagon out there, they may see, um, the different and the military solution. um, he is not wrong. as you can see from the photographs that you're running right now, that, uh, it's a total wasteland. and if you are going to rebuild gaza, i'm sure yo
