we are going to go now i think, to david shuster. david shuster is in michigan right now, and he is in novi outside of the romny headquarters. david, are you there? >> yes. >> what can you tell us. >> we are here. on the romney campaign a lot of the supporters financial supporters, staffers when they left here, very relieved because they have been pointing out that if he had lost this i mean the momentum going into super tuesday, of course, would have been hor endous for him. what they wanted to avoid, they didn't want rick santorum to be able to say, hey rick santorum i have won four of the last primaries by winning arizona and michigan, they avoided what they thought might be a catastrophfee. there are lingering questions about whether romney can win in the south, how he will do in ohio, what sort of factor newt gingrich will be in the south and the math is going to be done but they feel they have cleared a major hurdle as far as a potential catastrophe. >> you were there inside of what you had described earlier as a small room, wh

now, we go to david shuster in michigan david? >> great to have you back on politically direct coverage. right now, as we just showed you,'s got a 4-point lead. is it buzzing? do they think they have this thing won? >> well they are feeling pretty confident, but when you go to the speech tonight and we think obviously it could happen in the next hour keep in mind that what you see, this room at this convention center is actually very very small. i don't think it can fit more than maybe i don't know, about 150, 200 people there. there is actually more room for the press than the spectators. i would hasar to guess this is a direct result of the debacle at ford field w only 1,000 people showing up campaign reemed them out. i don't think i have seen a room this small. >> that's how tightly packed in they are going to be. >> you know what? it worked? because when we took the shot -- there it is again -- i thought, wow, look at all of those people who will showed up for romney. >> that's unusual. you know, i have got to ask you, david:

i'm david shuster. for all more than that already. the komen foundation in 2010 they brought in $400 million. so they are cutting off such a small part of that to make a political point. >> 0.016. this is about breast cancer. making sure that well can well. 170,000 women got breast cancer exams because of the komen money. now more will. but it's because women have stepped up and said woe. and i don't make any bones about how i feel politically about things, and i have been very vocal on twitter all through the night. i have not gotten one person -- and i always get haters -- not one person said how dare you take on these people. oddly enough the documentary launching tomorrow that is called pink ribbon, inc., and they are really looked into the komen foundation and others to see what it is about. >> there are so many women that participate in the race for the cure, is this an opportunity for planned parenthood to remind everybody who participates in screening? >> that's what they were doing. and they have the facilities, and infrastru

david shuster is coming from michigan a suburb near detroit.avid good evening. >> good evening to you. >> the free press says turnout is low. the exit polls suggested that just under half strongly favored their candidate they voted for this afternoon. how do we interpret that? >> the turnout is lower than it has been lower than it should be. southeastern michigan where they have been bombarding the airwaves with television ads the turnout is a little bit lowerhere. and that is a problem for romney. as far as winning the overall popular vote he has to pick it up here in southeast michigan. a lot of very nervous people here tonight in the romney watch party. >> on the other hand apparently in 2000 when john mccain won this primary, 17% in this open primary of the voters were democrats who were trying to make -- their own selection of who the nominee should be? so perhaps this is successful? perhaps it wasn't. but 10% is large enough margin to decide it, isn't it? >> it is. and there are some union households, but for the most part they got instru

i am david shuster sitting in for keith olbermann. unemployment has fallen again presenting the g.o.p. with a dlema. g.o.p. thinks they can sweep with one theme: they are the only ones who can turn the economy around. unfortunately for them, the numbers indicate they are wrong. employers added 243,000 jobs last month, dropping the unemployment rate from 8.5% to 8.3. beyond that good news the overall trend seemed positive, too. january was 7th straight month of job growth. the unemployment rate has dropped bringing us to the lowest rate in nearly three years. good news for millions of americans and for president obama who used the news to pressure congress to pass extensions of the payroll tax cut and unemployment insurance without delay. >> the economy is growing stronger. the recovery is speeding up. and we have got to do everything in our power to keep it going. so i want to send a clear message to congress: do not slow down the recovery that we are on. don't muck it up. >> mr. president, as you know milkinguck mucking things up is
