ktvu's david stevenson live in san francisco tonight with more on this. david. >> reporter: things have calmed down outside the state building since a ruckus protest this afternoon that led to 15 people being taken into custody. >>> four dozen immigrants rights activists denounced jerry brown this morning outside his san francisco office. demanding he help the county opt out of a community's program. >> he was the one that allowed i.c.e. into california to implement this horrible program. >> reporter: secure communities giving agents access to a state data bay of fingerprints taken at county jails. i.c.e. officials says scom is making the nation safer by catching criminals that shouldn't be here. protesters say s-comm is hurting the áf the state. six were taken into custody after they refused to leave brown's office. >> we have done nothing wrong but ask that someone come speak to us about this. >> reporter: since s-comm, 1,600 people have been deported, 18 had previous convictions ranging from serious crimes to misdemeanor. >> we want to let them know if

ktvu's david stevenson is following the story. he's out there with those teachers right now. what's going on. >> reporter: just take a look, you can see behind me about two dozen teachers aids and parents rallying outside the san francisco unified school district. they are rallying for pensions. the 1,400 school workers that may work as advisers or special ed instructors. 17 years ago, the district moved those special instructors. they want the district to switch them back to social security and pay back hundreds of thousands of the dollars they believe were unfairly taken away. district officials say para professionals negotiated the original deal which tends to favor those who have worked the longest. >> it's an awful thing to work over 20 years and only be given $200, $300 a month. that's absolutely ridiculous. >> by it's sheer design resulted in certain employees getting more. it was not an equal allocation. >> reporter: school district officials say they are willing to return to a social security based pension program but the union will have to sit down at the bargaining
