i also want to thank my colleague david trujillo. you're amazing, could not have done this without you, thank you, i love it. and i just want to say what's really important to me is i accept this honor really on behalf of the women coming to our health center and our partners that are so brave to come into those -- into our health center to get the care that they need and are able to do that so bravely. i also accept it on behalf of our staff, like you said, every day come to work knowing that they're being videotaped, their photographs are being taken not knowing what website they're going to end up in and possibly be the next target of the antiabortion protesters. i am so proud of the city of san francisco and the leadership, and i am so honored to be here today and you're not getting rid of me. i will be back. and i also want to thank my in-laws are here, and my aunt elaine, eleanor greenberg, elaine greenberg who are here and i am thrilled that they are here with me today. and thank you very much. >> thank you, adrian. david trujillo is at one of the schools impacted if the new proposal gets approved. damian, a lot of protesters going through great lengths this evening to kill this bill. >> reporter: it's heating up, raj. they call it a constitutional amendment if approved by the voters, ultimately would repeal some of the provisions of proposition 209. but there is a lot of anger on the streets. and you might be surprised where that anger is coming from. dozens of angry protesters rallied outside the offices of assemblyman quaun today. they're chinese americans and they want nothing to do with affirmative action. >> it's not good for california. it's not good for higher education. >> reporter: sca 5 would once again allow public universities to make a mission decision based on race or ethnicity. not just academics. >> i'm worried. i'm anxious. i'm worried about the future of my children. >> reporter: protesters want prop 209 to remain the law of the land. >> 209 in california was passed by voters. >> reporter: the debate is one of the hot topics making the rounds in dr. michael ch
