sergeant davidson reports for duty in the early morning hours on a hot summer day.fter filing some reports, he heads out on patrol. only a couple of hours into his shift, davidson receives a call. >> i had been working a little bit of traffic enforcement, dispatched to a stranded motor vehicle. a motorist had a right rear flat tire. >> reporter: on a busy bridge, the driver's attempting to change his blown tire on a very tight stretch of highway. >> the shoulders are narrow at the top of the bridge, and you can also feel the bridge move. he got out and started changing his tire and became apprehensive and nervous because of all the heavy traffic. >> davidson arrives on the scene within minutes. >> as i pulled up to the vehicle, i noticed the right rear tire of the vehicle was flat. he just wanted a patrol vehicle there for the safety to keep vehicles off of him while he changed the tire. >> after exiting his patrol car, davidson approaches the motorist to offer assistance. >> he changed his tire. he had the flat tire leaning up against the concrete traffic barricade

davidson. after a few worlds were exchanged the 55-year-old pasceri shot davidson twice. it happened outside a second floor exam room. police found pasceri dead on another level of the hospital. he had taken his own life. davidson had operated on his mother who died in november. >>> tel aviv says ten people were stabbed and they are calling it an act of terrorism. >> reporter: emergency crews rushed to save victims who were stabbed on a bus wednesday on the busy streets of tel aviv. one passenger said the suspect who was riding the bus had murder in his eyes as he stabbed one person after another. prison officers in the area saw the bus swerving out of control and the man running away. >> special patrol units chased the suspect. he was shot in his leg and is now in police custody. >> reporter: police identified the suspect as a 23-year-old palestinian man from the west bank who entered israel illegally. investigators say he confessed to the stabbings saying the attack was revenge for israel's war against gaza last year. a spokesman for the hamas militant group praised the

tracy davidson following the developments for us from the digital operation center. what is going on? >> the french government is confirming that it is performing an operation to catch the suspects from this week's massacre. we have a live picture. it shows the helicopter on scene. here's what we can tell you, this is happening 22 miles northeast of paris. it started with suspects stealing a car. police started chasing them. now, they're over this scene where you see the military helicopters. reports of gunfire near an apartment where they're over and also hostages being held. military helicopters, as you can see, are flying over the scene and now really focused in above this apartment. again, this has happened in the last 30 minutes. it's 10:00 in the morning there paris time. we're going to get you new information and we continue to get new information about what is going on in the scene there. we can show you their pictures. they are linked to a terror network in yemen involved in that massacre. the two were on the u.s. no-fly list. we can tell you what was happen

i'm tracy davidson. >>> i'm chris cato. this could impact travel again heading into saturday morning. we'll begin with meteorologist bill henley and the first alert forecast. bill? >>> saturday morning and people are out late tonight as well. during the day today will be fine. skies are clear right now. in fact, we'll see a lot of sunshine today. it will be a nice one with a nice breeze blowing in center city, but winds of change are headed into the night. the first alert has been issued for tonight and saturday for hazardous travel late tonight, overnight tonight and into saturday morning, especially. that's when we'll see accumulating snow that will mix with sleet and freezing rain before it changes over to rain. right now it is completely dry in the area. nothing to show you on the radar in the immediate area but the storm that is coming our way moved into parts of tennessee and are moving into the carolinas. the heaviest precipitation right now is in southern alabama and into the panhandle of florida. this morning it's

i'm tracy davidson. >> i'm chris cato. you'll notice the icon on the bottom of the screen but nbc 10 has ordered a first alert freeze warning out there. let's go to meteorologist bill henley here with the first alert forecast. no rain is falling across the area, right? >>> chris, the rain is long gone, but areas that didn't dry up overnight and were not treated, those are going to be icy this morning. even in some areas where temperatures are just above freezing. for example, center city right now at 34 degrees. that's the air temperature. the ground is warming up a limit slower than that. so we could still see some ice. even with temperatures above, just above freezing. 36 in northeast philly is less of an issue with pottstown, mount holly, wilmington at or near freezing. those temperatures just cold enough that the ground is a bit icy. now, we are watching a few isolated showers. some quick moving showers moving through the reading area burkes county and now into chester and upper montgomery county. a few flurries to sta
