good morning. >> reporter: yeah, dave. in fact i just confirmed it with police but i wanted to show you how we stumbled upon it i guess you could say. the company located in south fremont. if you're looking for the building there's no way you can tell how the robbers got in. we went to the back and saw the adjacent property and saw the yellow police tape. the back of the company is right here. so also a privacy hedge. we walked along the privacy hemming we saw there was a hole right here between the two properties. and when i got down here i noticed there was a hole in this fence here. and if you look very closely you can see there's some shiny metal sticking out from where the fence was cut here. in addition to that you can see some branches that were ripped off, not cut but ripped off. so just a few momentsing a police confirmed what we suspected. and that is the robbers got in to the property through this hole in the fence. this all happened on sunday morning. it took about 30 minutes to carry out. that according to pol

thank you for joining us here monday, march 14th i'm dave clark. >> and i'm claudine wong. pam cook has the day off. it's 6:30. this morning the santa cruz harbor remains closed to boat traffic. ktvu kraig debro is live in santa cruz with the very latest on efforts to remove a sunken boat. there are many of them. >> reporter: there are at least a dozen. the department of fish and gain says it has brought in boats and other assets as they call them to assist in the effort to pull out boats out of the water. this is one of 18 that sank last friday. right now four of them have been pulled from the water. the wave search is on friday where a shock and surprise for many people. some knew about the tsunami warning but very few of those that knew about it head the the warning. one man that did said his boat survived the serge and his brother survived the earthquake. >> we think we dodged the bullet environmentally. most that are damaged are private vessels that carry very little fuel. >> reporter: there are 12 boats that docked at this harbor. they could be at the bottom of the ha

. >> reporter: good morning, dave. right now behind me at marin and alameda you see the flashing lights down there. that is the entrance to the home at the 18-u avenue hundred block of marin. they told me they have been given a heads up by police here. we expect to see the coroner out here at any moment. at 4:20 police entered the home and found the man dead. it began long before that. they got a call around 7:30 because multiple shots were fired. when they got here soon after they got here they made contact with the man inside. he refused to come out. police believe he was armed. swat teams were called out. oakland pd helped out with a bear cat and they had a robotic arm machine they bring in to help with these negotiations. they entered the home around 4:20. that's when they found made the discovery inside the home. >> we entered the house. we contacted one individual we believed to be our subject. and upon contact, he appeared to be suffering from a self- inflicted gunshot wound. >> reporter: police have identified

i am dave clark. >> good morning. i am pam cook. >>> overnight news, a bizarre police chase to tell you about. it happened in berkeley and ends with the arrest of a woman. we are live at the apartment building where this all started early this morning. good morning. >> reporter: well, good morning. driver certainly did some damage as she was trying to flee police. you can see on the side of this building where the car scraped the side wall here, the car kept going and hit a support beam that was holding up this staircase. you can see the post. that was the support beam that was holding up the staircase and it's now tangled up in the bushes and. the car kept going, it drove down, you can see the tracks in the grass. now berkeley police aren't giving us a lot of information this morning so we don't know why this woman was fleeing police, but dispatchers say police arrived around 2:00 a.m. to do a security check. at some point shortly afterwards is when the woman took off in the car. she hit two police officer cars on he

>> reporter: good morning, dave bart services at the concord bart station is back on track this morning. if you are heading in to san francisco from this station i am happy to report you will have no problem. a train just came through a few minutes ago you can see there is not a lot of people waiting. we watched the very first train pull in about on time around 4:15 this morning. and there has been several other trains go through taking passengers to san francisco. this is a relief for commuters this morning. yesterday service on this line came to a complete halt at 9:20 yesterday morning a bart train derailed at the concord station. news chopper two was overhead just after it happened. you can see the train jackknife on the track. they worked all day to fix the line. before that announcement came down there were several bart riders out here this morning very anxious about their commute. >> i'm going to get there today

good morning. >> reporter: good morning, dave.ury selection is the first thing that will happen for the first day of the barry bonds perjury trial. it will happen in this federal building behind us. you can see outside they are already starting to prepare for what they are probably expecting to be large crowds and lo of the media gathered out here. you can see the metal gates. those will go up to clear a path for barry bonds and his attorneys and some of the big players in this case to enter the courthouse unobstructed. this trial starts eight years after bonds legal troubles began. he gave that testimony as part of a federal information into the use of steroids in major league baseball. four years after that he was indicted for lying under oath. bonds is not expected to testify in this case. he is expected however to come in to watch the proceedings today. jury experts say it could be tough for the government to make its case to jurors that perjury is a serious offense. >> this is something that routinely prosecutors have to deal

monday march 28th i'm dave clark. >> good morning, i'm pam cook. time now is 6:30. >>> topping our news this morning. one bay area man is making national news by picking up a sunday newspaper. ktvu kraig debro joins us now from vacaville. tell us what happened. >> reporter: i just spoke to the city of vacaville information officer. i learned new information about this case. the newspaper might not have belonged to the man that was injured. we are on the 900 block of ashville. investigators will circle things or place plaquers near pieces of evidence. over on the front yard there is a hole in the ground where the explosion happened yesterday. according to people that lived on the street the explosion might have killed a smaller person. this happened at 10:20 yesterday morning when a man went out to pick up a newspaper. now the newspaper he picked up was in the yard next door to where he lives. so it's not clear if he was picking up his newspaper. shortly after he picked it up there was an explosion according to witnesses at the scene. some of the ma
