experts say just the smallest increase in daylight can improve one's mood.ven if the weather is still cold. and for those who suffer from sleep disorders, getting to bed earlier tonight is recommended rather than trying to sleep in later tomorrow morning. unless, of course, you work like we do until late and that's not an option. if all es fails, monday happens to be the unofficial holiday of national napping day. i like that

this happened in broad daylight, didn't it?er: that's the shocking thing about it, sydnie. broad daylight in front of a lot of people. lunchtime at that mcdonald's that you see behind me, the shooting sent a man to the hospital. san jose police this morning confirming the man is still alive. he is on life support. but as you pointed out, there is a building right next door to mcdonald's liberty tax services with a camera on the outside. they have a video and they provided it for us. let's take a look at that. now, at the top of the screen, you will see the shooter on the run and as you watch you can see a woman apparently reacting to the shot and turning around. a moment later the suspect runs by wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt holding a gun. the video was provided by paul grewal who owns liberty tax right next door to the crime scene. released the video to cbs 5 because, he said, it was the right thing to do. >> we catch the person that done this harm to the young man that got shot, hope they catch him and hopefully it doesn'

it is daylight friday afternoon in japan. you see smoke billowing from one area affected by all of this. with me now is jonathan bloom. he's going to give us a better sense of the area affected by this quake. >> it is simply a huge area that's affected by this quake. you can see on our google earth map in the studio the earthquake was centered way out in the ocean very far offshore and one of the places where the most severe shaking was felt is one of the places that we're getting pictures from. it's actually the city of sendai where nhk, the japanese television network has offices. this is where they're feeling some of the most severe shaking. over here along the coast is where there have been reports of tsunami damage, cars literally being swept away by waves that are 13 and 14 feet tall by this earthquake that happened so many miles out here in the ocean. to give you an idea just how widespread the damage is going to be, that earthquake is 240 miles from the city of tokyo and a half hour after that earthquake hit some of t
