this will be her last year at working at the budget at dcyf. she's going to the department of building inspection. i would like to thank her for being such a great worker and supporter of our department. i'm very thankful that she's still staying with us in the city, but it's a huge loss to our department. >> are you in agreement at this time with our budget analyst or still working it out? >> we are in agreement with the budget analyst. >> with the revised. before we go to your report, mr. avalos? >> i would like to thank sue for your work and this will be before the rules committee later on. i know we are trying to create some change in the program an i know it's hard to work for change and we have to understand that things also don't to have stay the way they are when we do that. i appreciate your flexibility. >> thank you. >> mr. rose, can we go to your report? >> yes, mr. chairman and members of the committee. on page 42 of our report, i just handed out some revised recommendations so that our recommended reductions to the proposed budget

i have the pleasure of working there for two years and dcyf and the budget meeting as well the hearing on youth incarcerated parents stated some things that they are doing to help youth in the city that are a transformation that are wonderful such as funding project well and project what is a vital project that needs to be funded, but we also have to consider how after school programs and other community organizations like the mission beacon help to serve youth, including youth of parents who are incarcerated. with the trend moving towards academic only after school programs, eviction of mission beacon, we have to look at ways in which these thing can be integrate and had we can begin to tackle these issues on an integrated level, not just fixing problem for problem. both project well and support for program like the beacon aimed [speaker not understood] through the utilization of community partnership and community voices could change many thing of families and children in san francisco. we're not just problems to be fixed. funding is necessary to make sure [inaudible]. >> thank you.

ensure that dcyf has a strong oversight and advisory committee that is transparent and accountable to all residents in the city and extend the funds to support our children and families. and then also build a strong policy table through our children and our families council. i look forward as a city, as a resident, as a city department and a resident of the city with two children in our public school system that we as a city can support our children further. thank you again, and 11-0, that is pretty amazing. thank you. >> thank you, dr. su. next up is erica mayburn, coordinator of the san francisco child-care planning and advisory council. >> good afternoon supervisors. my name is erica mayburn and i'm the coordinator of the san francisco child-care planning and advisory council. i wanted to first take a moment to thank the supervisors and the supervisors of the rules committee and particularly supervisor kim, supervisor norman yee and supervisor avalos for all of the work and time that you and your staff have committed to the children and families first charter amendments. many of th
