it is an honor to recognize jerald gene dean as she celebrates her birthday today. she was born on april 1, 1919, in tucson, arizona. gerald dean, dropped out of high school to support her single mother and four uncle siblings. after marrying her husband, the couple relay tated to -- relocated to his hometown. there she devoted her time to raising six children. as her children grew older, miss pena was able to become more actively involved in the community, always lending a hand when possible. she was also an active member of the american legion auxiliary post 49 and including national conventions in texas and hawaii. the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and more expected in the coming years. i'm pleased to hon herzegovina for her lega -- honor her for her legacy. her devotion to family and is admirable and i hope her 100th birthday celebration is filled with love and happiness. she's joined by family traveling from california, illinois, arizona, and across texas. i ask my colleagues to join me in pishing her a happy birthday and wish

i do agree with the dean. it is likely the battle over reductions, it is headed to court ultimately. it very well could result in line by line parsing of the report to determine whether each particular redaction was justified. thatnk it was interesting the white house did not assert executive privilege. we don't know the reasons for that. in a case like this, it was surprising to me. certainly we have seen in past administrations that they are often not shy about asserting executive privilege when there's information they don't want getting out in the public sphere. it's possible that the white house said, the reductions will do the trick. it makes me wonder, if this is going to go to court and a judge says, there was no reason to redact this piece of material because of grand jury information. it's going to come out if there no other reason for the redaction. whereas the white house, if they had inserted executive privilege, it would give them a protective shield. >> as a last point, i wonder if they will try
