deanna, the sheriff tells me the community here in camden county holds their breath tonight, whie the man known as capt jim brincfield here's what the deputies say happened. captian jim used his burn barrel friday afternoon. from what they can tell, he may have used an accelerant for the burning. at some point the barrell exploded and caught brincfield on fire. when medics and deputies got to his home they found him in the shower cooling his burns. the sheriff says the fire burned 3/4 of his body paramedics flew him to sentara norfolk general hospital. a neighbor told me the entire family has been called to his side this afteroon. the sheriff says the entire communty knows captain jim well.
