for their support of this legislation and all of their input to make it possible and of course deanna kezon from my staff, what we have before us today is a first of its kind legislation really in the united states to try to make our places of public accommodation here in san francisco accessible for all, and what we did was we modeled our program off of our existing seismic soft story program where we break up our buildings into four different categories and in each of the different categories, there are different tiers of compliance, so for example, there may be buildings that have a step in front of it or two or more steps or there may be buildings that are pretty much in compliance, so the first tier is that they would have to submit a compliance checklist and the required plans and information to the city, the second tier is to file an application for the required building permits, and thirdly, to obtain the required building permits. i will be making amendments to this legislation that we have confirmed our non-substantive in nature but i will have deputy city attorney john gibner con
