good morning, executive director dearman. so i think you have a copy of our case report for the day. so, the case study and writing project. we're in the final editing process of this project. the project committee and d.a.s. are reviewing the final draft profiles of the organizations. this will be done this week. and we have entered into an agreement with a design specialist and p.d.f. layout, so we hope to distribute both print copies and p.d.f. to state and local agencies, public and private partners and affiliate nonprofit. we'll be meeting this friday actually as we -- to just determine the -- the bucket of those agencies and non-profits et cetera, who we need to distribute and how we'll distribute this. we're looking at distribution date of the end of december or early january. i think at this point we're looking at early january, so we don't get into the -- kind of the chaos and the -- of the holidays so to speak. i think we're looking at an early-january distribution on all of this. and if there are suggestions from t

dearman, very thoughtful and well-planned out process. i do appreciate the budget process is complex. i appreciate the work of your staff to make this happen. mr. dearman, i want to highlight the excellent work that you continue to do. we are all working in very challenging environment with increased needs. i can see with all of the different sources of funding and basically prioritizing what we need to do. this is excellent be work going on. i really look forward to the expansion of the work both in terms of the program to addressing very important nutrition needs of seniors. it is excellent work. i want to compliment and acknowledge the teamwork that you and your staff have been doing. >> thank you very much for the concise report on the budget. very enlightening. my question and comment is going to be for executive director dearman. when we are talking about providing veterans services to veterans, the va located at fort miley one of the biggest complaints is it is way too far away. yet we have the veterans building across the street f

i'm kelley dearman. i'm the executive director of the department of disability and aging services, and i really thank you for taking some time to hear about everything that's going on. so next slide, please. so while ddas is not the department that provides services, we do provide housing to older people and people with disabilities. we also bring policy and strategy to conversations about homelessness. we fund a variety of services that support housing for seniors and people are disabilities. there are three ways our department supports senior housing. we have two rental subsidy programs for older people and adults with disabilities. one program helps stabilize people at imminent risk of eviction if they're unable to pay rent. the other is providing assistance to people to pay their rent. we serve about 430 people a year through these two locally funded programs. while these programs serve a relatively small number, they are very impactful for those served. we also service publicly managed housing cited

director dearman? >> i can just -- thank you. i can just say that we anticipate that the california department of social services is going to issue an announcement probably in early february, soliciting applications for funding that can be utilized to purchase or renovate assistive living or residential care for the elderly, and our department is prepared to respond with the goal of increasing the number of rcfe beds that are available to low-income adults through the expansion funding. depends on how much funding we get, but that is one point currently. >> chair mar, i'll just add that the department of public health and our team working to implement the department of public health legislation is very focused on expansion of and specifically to rcfes, the -- we have funding to expand to 73 new rcfe beds. and just to let you know that there's a focus in that one for people who have behavioral health challenges because it's through mental health san francisco, so we are looking at new possibilities, new funding. it's very challeng
