debbie.to see you. >> mike: for those of us in a few extra holiday pounds, should we be taking those drugs or should we be doing it the old-fashioned way by controlling portions and exercising? >> it's a complicated question. first we have to follow the fda approval. it's for diabetes and as for weight loss, it raises a lot of questions. even the past week is that bound which is also the same medication that has approval for sleep apnea. in terms of the benefits i agree with elon musk that there are a lot of benefits maybe some that haven't been studied or realized yet but for a lot of these obesity-related conditions, this medication in this class medications could change things. if you think about it for example what is the purpose of health. what are we looking at. we're trying trying to increase life expectancy and increase quality of life to those years and if you think of things that really limit americans and bring people to their doctor it's heart disease which is the number 1 killer.
