joining me now is congresswoman debbie dingell of michigan.. what exactly is the purpose of the heartland caucus? >> the purpose of the heartland caucus, quite frankly, i did a map for our caucus a couple of weeks ago, which shows where the leadership is for both our caucus and the chairmanship. there is a big, empty you in the middle of the country. we will never really bring the majority back unless we work [inaudible] and if we are going to win it back, which we will, i will do everything i can to make sure we do it in 2024. we must pay attention to the issues, not only of the rural voter, but even the suburban voter that you are talking about. the blue collar, auto worker, donald trump won in 2016, joe biden wanted in 2020, we want it in 2024, and unique town hall meetings right before this election. so we have to talk to the people quite frankly, who are the backbone of the american economy, in many ways in the heartland. and sometimes we are not the best at doing that. >> so to that point then, what issues are and democrats ignoring as a
