. >> yeah, i want you to hear what debbie stabenow, who is she's leaving. she's retiring from her seat. she's represented michigan for very long time. she's also a member of the democratic leadership. listen to what she told kasie hunt this morning about the challenges there this is a lot of pain. we need to hear that we need to understand that. we need to listen. it's incredibly important that the biden administration is able to get not only a temporary ceasefire, but bring hostages home and be able to proceed to actually get real peace. there's a lot of important work and listening and results. it's not just listening. it's getting results. and so that's gotta happen yeah. >> listen the folks on the ground in michigan, the arab american community, they feel this viscerally notable that she used the word pain because that is what they're experience. a lot of these folks have family over there. they hadn't heard from their family in weeks and weeks and weeks at a colleague who was there over the last couple of days and that's what she was hearing. and that

there's no doubt about that, and you even hear some of their allies like senator debbie stabenow on our air this morning, or governor gretchen whitmer on cnn, just in the last couple of days saying that there is this real sense of unease among some inside the democratic electorate and coalition here related to biden's israel gaza policies. now, sara, when you say how much damage can really be done, joe biden is going to be the democratic nominee. joe biden's going to collect more delegates tonight in michigan, it's not as if he's at risk of somehow losing that stature. what is clear here, what is going to be exposed for us to see here, how big a to-do item is bringing back the young, the progressive, the arab-american pieces of the coalition in michigan, specifically, because it's really tough, really tough to see you, joe biden wins a second term in the white house without michigan in his corner? >> yes, i do want to talk to you too, about nikki haley. she says over and over that trump can't win a general election. there are some polling that she could, she lost though in south carolin

which is why governor whitmer of michigan told me on sunday why the senior senator from michigan, debbie stabenow told >> kasie hunt today that they really didn't know how it was going to end up, what they did see. and we don't we still don't know how it's going to end up. but what they are seeing is a very packed actually knit effort to send president biden a message and i think that we should really underscore the idea that that's what they're trying to do. and we talked about this a little bit earlier. they genuinely are trying to affect policy. are there some people who just don't like joe biden who might stay home in november absolutely. >> but those >> people probably are staying home today as well. and so the question is whether or not given the fact that president biden has already shifted in his rhetoric and in his approach to israel, whether or not if they do send get the numbers to send that message, how much of an effect will it have? >> yeah, the one senior michigan democratic source that i've been speaking with tonight says this is actually higher than they expected in terms of the
