let's get to debora with a big twist in all of this. debora. >> reporter: absolutely, anita. a sick and twisted hoax put the scare of their lives into hundreds of students at the university of v wise campus. it was -- virginia wise campus. it was put on lock downwith a report that a student -- down with a report that a student saw a man with a gun. this was a hoax. right after the 911 call, the school was put on lockdown. at exactly 9:28 they said it was on lockdown. told them to find a safe place. at 10:08 they put out a second e-mail alert to students. again, the lockdown continuing. and what happened then is virginia state police, campus police, a whole bunch of other law enforcement agencies went building by building to do a search. while they were doing that, special agents interviewed the student who called 911, and that student confessed it was a hoax. at 10:57, that lockdown was lifted. and that seems to be the story, anita. >> you know, we have to say here debora to see such a rapid response issued to students to tell them to stay in lockdown, to go on campus buildin
