debra? >> reporter: hey there andrea. we are at the final meeting place and it to kind of go along with students as they were traveling down new hampshire avenue in silver spring but we caught up with them and they stopped right here at mlk park, so you can see how many students are here. they're all from blake, spring brook and paint branch. and they all joined together today for a walkout and a protest. so spring brook and blake, they met up around 9:40 this morning. they all walked near colesville center and then they were heading over here to the park on jackson road. saying love trumps hate. not my president, one said this is for you mom and dad. and had a bunch of different international flags on it. united against hate was another one. and i talked to many of the students as they were marching to mlk and kind of talking about what they were doing out here. and they basically say they're too young to vote but they want their voices to be heard. i talked to some kids and i said well, what do you think about staying i

he is facing one of the toughest challenges in the country against a little known democrat, debra ross, a dead heat. a race that can actually determine the next senate majority. he's really trying to fire up his base and align himself with donald trump. at this private event with volunteers in wardville, north carolina, he made those comments you just played, similar to what donald trump said on the campaign trail in august, when he said the second amendment people should take matters in their own hands. unlike trump, burr is saying sorry, saying the comment was, quote, inappropriate, and i apologize for that. at the same meeting, burr also said i'm going to do everything i can to ensure clinton does not fill that final supreme court seat that's vacant now. and he promiseped ped at that he would be loyal to trump.

debra: i tell you, this is worthy of a political thriller. we thought we knew what had happened in the chandra leavy case. gary condit has been linked to the case for so long. everyone had taken their eyes off of him. this illegal immigrant had been convicted of her murder. then suddenly this summer, the case was just dropped. everything has been blown open, and this woman of it. she has not spoken to anybody publicly before, certainly not on television. she tells how she somehow befriended the man who is the star witness in this case can't began -- in this case and began courting him because he was talking about harming somebody in her life. he started talking about the chandra leavy case, and leading her to believe that there was witness everybody thought, and prosecutors realized they did not have a credible witness and realized they did not have a case. we also talked with ingmar himself, the first time that he talked to anybody since the case blew open. we would hear what he has to say about his involvement in the case. he has maintained
