we have "new york times" saying there would be claims included from debra ramirez and dr.ation, what are the chances the scope -- can it expand? i recall hearing the phrase "within scope" as it applies to this fbi investigation. >> that's a really important question, alex. in fact in the headline of the "new york times" article that you just put on the screen, it says limited. that's my big question -- what do they mean by limited in? so, for instance, if this were a criminal investigation, the fbi wouldn't need anyone's permission to do whatever 28d do. it would open an investigation, it it could subpoena documents, it could compel testimony, but here, remember they needed the white house, the client agency in this case to direct them to reopen it. my question is, did the white house limit what the fbi could do? if they said you can only speak to two, three, four people, it might be the case the fbi would have to go back to the white house to follow up on any logical leads. so i think the scope is the critical question. >> absolutely. elizabeth we have republican lawmaker

debra katz: a thorough fbi investigation is critical to develop the relevant facts. dr.ord williams this step and appreciates all of the senators who supported an fbi investigation before the senate votes on judge kavanaugh combination. -- nomination. they said no artificial limits should be impossessed on this investigation. what does that mean? that means that dr. ford is saying no to a one week deadline as the president ordered and senator flake and others promised. they are saying no limit on scope. what does that mean? the senate judiciary committee said the deal is they are only looking at current and credible allegations as if the dr. ford allegations that are considered current before them and considered credible. even the president said dr. ford was credible in her testimony yesterday. if michael avanati or someone else comes up with something new that might not be deemed credible, they were not supposed to look at. it dr. ford's legal team is saying the opposite. it should not be a one week limit. look at anything and everything. that's what conservatives feare
