san francisco police say they still have a very strong case against debra madden but they tell us the state attorney general's office dropped the case a few weeks ago without explanation. >> we are very disappointed. we believe we presented a good case, but it is a conflicts case. >> reporter: she was accused of pilfering cocaine. it led to hundreds of cases being dismissed. they found cocaine in her home wrapped in the same kind of paper used at the crime lab. >> i thought i could control my drinking by using this cocaine. >> reporter: she first denied it and then admitted it. >> you say you've never taken any cocaine from evidence, even a small amount? foror personal use. >> in some fell on the counter or something and it was there afterwards, i may have taken that, but no i didn't' scoop it out of evidence. >> what would you do with that? >> that, i would use. >> reporter: she said to the investigators that she did it? >> yes, she did. >> i guess you would have to ask the prosecute. i don't have an answer for that. >> she will not be reinstated. >> she was terminated from employmen
