i'm delia goncalves in for debra this evening. right now we're tracking breaking news near trump hotel. a car chase ended in a crash right outside the hotel at 12th and pennsylvania avenues. the suspect was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. our stephanie ramirez spoke to an eyewitness who caught some of the action on camera. stephanie is live outside the hotel. what did he see? >> reporter: well, the witness i talked to told me he was inside the trump international hotel's clock tower when he filmed at least a dozen officers swarming on that suspect vehicle. what we know from police so far is there was some sort of pursuit before a suspect who deadly weapon, a knife, struck a car just outside of trump hotel at 12th and pennsylvania avenue northwest. steven porter is the witness i talked to. afterwards he watched officers trying to calm down children in the second car. police say five people in total including the suspect were taken to the hospital. they're expected to be okay, but in the first moments of this incident given
