abc's deirdre bolton says there are a number of factors at play here. deirdre, good morning.l just say there's some upside and there's some downside, but in the meantime, even for a lot of americans so far, while their wallets may be feeling lighting, analysts say this is because of increases in some cases which have already been put into play. companies such as hormel and smucker's, they have raised prices. diapers and paper products, cereal, might be more expensive as early as this june. you might even pay more for pet food. so 9 lives, kibbles and bits, meow mix, milk bone, they may see price increases. the reason is because these companies are paying higher freight, manufacturing and shipping fees. they're also paying more for ingredients. so grain and the pulp that goes into paper products. these are more expensive right now than they were last year. so blame part of these price moves on the pandemic. americans are buying up home staples, and you have more demand paired with sometimes lmited or inefficient supply chain, and that equals higher prices across the board. you

. >> ibm set to report earnings after the bell deirdre bosa has a preview of those numbers for us >>us will be on big blue's spin-off of its information services business that was recently named kyndryl. the street is eager to see if they can return to revenue growth, which would be encouraging. keep in mind that ibm has seen its revenue decline on an annualized basis in eight of the last nine years. shares are up 6% this year making it the underperformer among legacy tech names that have seen value investors drive the wider group higher back to you guys. >> thanks so much for that up 6% or so this year, mike, but last quarter wasn't particularly encouraging. they haven't had many encouraging quarters for some time but last quarter was a big gut check. >> if you look longer term it's really been very range bound in a market where you piled up a lot of gains many concentrated in tech. it's been the same old type story for ibm in terms of slow top line there is a chance this spin-off does liberate some value i've always said that in theory there was something very similar to accenture

we have the details, deirdre. >> lyft has just announced it is going to sell its autonomous driving unit0 million this is a bit to reach that adjusted ebidta profitable target and they will reach it by the third quarter of this year remember that both ride-sharing companies here in the united states, lyft and uber have been trimming expenses over the last year so the pandemic to help achieve that profitability adjusted ebidta profit ability that is uber last year sold its self-driving unit to aurora. so you're seeing certainly some consolidation in the self-driving car space this time it is lyft and you could see that shares are up about 1.5% they were up as much as 5% guys. it may be because eurinvestors e expecting to hit this measure of profitability this year. >> is this a vote of confidence in the idea of autonomous driving in general or not? i mean this is lyft escaping that part of the business or toyota saying we need exposure to some good technology? >> well, i think it is a little bit of both. i think that toyota has been on this path, they've invested in autonomous driving so
