jennifer delgado joins us as the cnn weather center. hi, jen. >> the weather in asia hasn't been so nice in some locations. let's go over video to show you what's happening. another day of mud slides and landslides. this video you're looking at. reportedly 18 people died. this is out of the northern province. you can see the ground collapses after days of torrential rainfall. this is a pattern we've been seeing over the last several weeks. the same time we also saw heavy rain down towards the south. as i take you to the satellite imagery, you can see the bulk of the rainfall through central parts of china as well as areas like shanghai and as well as areas including japan. this is where we'll see the heaviest precipitation over the next two days. but it looks like the north is going to get a break from the heaviest rainfall and also down towards the south. in addition to the heavy rain, we're also talking about warm temperatures. temperature right now is 33 degrees in hong kong. very hot and humid there. we have power outages and rollin

meteorologist jennifer delgado is standing by with your business travelers forecast. good morning, jen. i take it you're watching some of the problem spots right now. where are they? >> we have two problem spots. one in western europe. but the one towards eastern europe will be firing up the activity later in the day. you look at the radar right now. blue and red being reflected in areas of germany and poland. this means another cool as well as rainy day for parts of western europe. it's really going to be the east that we're watching for areas, including romania, bulgaria, anywhere near the black sea. approaching the cold front of the moisture coming through. we're looking for potential of the storms to fire up gusty winds. can't rule out the chance for an isolated tornado or two. and very heavy rainfall. that's going to spread toward areas of portland, lithuania. this will last as we go through the morning hours. as we look across parts of the u.s., things are nice and quiet on the radar. i point this out to you because we're talking about space shuttle "atlantis."

speak of flying our meteorologist jennifer delgado is at the weather center. >> it is bringing heavy and certainly this is going to be causing delays, especially if you're trying to fly into or out of the philippines. as i show you, you can see right there, the center of circulation is located about 75 kilometers to the east of manila. that's bringing heavy rainfalls as well as gusty wind. again, it looks like it's going to actually weaken within the next 24 hours and reintensify as it moves through the south china sea. winds right now at 55 kilometers. as it moves to the west, it's going to be heading likely toward hainan island. as i said, wind s peaking back up. rain has been coming down heavy. in the philippines we're talk 1g 00 to 300 millimeters of rainfall. more is on the way. anywhere you're seeing in the red as well as the burgundy shades, we're talking 50 to 70. it's going to move real slee and that will cause problems across parts of the philippines. as i look across north -- south america, i see problems. there were problems in bay necessary aries yesterday. you can read

let's go to jen delgado keeping tabs on all of this joins us from the cnn international weather center. it will be a hugely watched event, not just around the world but particularly in the u.s. >> i hear there's thousands if not a million people out there watching this because, you know, they're reminiscing about the history of space shuttle "atlantis." we said we expect the launch to happen later on today. but as i show you on the radar, things have improve the dramatically, if you can see over the past 12 hours over the eastern coastline of florida, things have settled down, but we have a tropical wave we're watching. this one has about a 30% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone, nonetheless it will increase the thunderstorm coverage across the region as we go through today, tomorrow and the next several days ahead. for the launch today, here's the forecast. expecting a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms out there, southwest winds 15 to 20 kph, temperatures 28 degrees. launch time 1526. if it doesn't get off today, by tomorrow we have a bit better of a chance to lift off
