delta is starting to test face recognition software for bag drops.that. what is this about, trace? >> delta is unveiling two new technologies simultaneously at the minneapolis st. paul airport this summer. the self-service bag drop stations and the facial recognition software. first, you would go to a disc kiosk that would print your boarding pass and bag tags and you take your luggage to one of the four new bag drop stations. delta will confirm your identification through biometric facial recognition and then they'll use that to match it up to your passport. for the time being, only passengers that carry passports can use the facial recognition. others will have their i.d. checked by a human. delta saying "since customers can operate the drop machine independently, we'll driver more proactive and thoughtful customer service." delta, by the way, is already trying out self-serve security lines in the atlanta airport. a the hope is that some day in all the airports, you can get to the gate without coming in contact with employees. delta says by using t
