christopher began his career as a gardener with the recreation and parks dement in 1996. after being a gardener for over 17 years he was appointed as a parks supervisor this past february. christopher was nominated by waen, the superintendent and for his achievements, sharp park is a sensitive area containing threatened and endangered species and the city is obligated to project. in addition to federal over sight on ongoing activities at sharp park are highly scrutinized by the department. in order to improve the site, the sea wall which protects wet lands and habitat for the california red fog and the san francisco gardeners, they had to be replaced. in addition to be sensitive in terms of environmental protection and public interaction, this project was constrained by funding and timing. christopher and his areas had two weeks to clear approximately three quarter mile area of sharp park. the crew had to clear the vegetation and monitor the vegetation for the snakes and the frogs. interact with the public and make sure the contractors installed the fence with 30 conserva

my legislation would allow the dement of elect full text of the limits and supervisor wiener had the other motion. i have merged the gaps and let me describe what the amendments would. do first it state that's new rule that we're talking about would not apply to charter amendments. the idea is if we have charter amendments we should include the entire legal text regardless of size in the voter information pamphlet but these would apply to ordinances and declarations of policy and then the amendments that i have introduced state that for measures with legal text over 100 pages the voter information pamphlet, the ballot book would include the first 100 pages and exclude the remainder and for over 100 pages the board could adopt a resolution to include the full text and the resolution would be need to be effective, ie signed by the mayor by the last day and if there are certain measures that we want voters to see everything we could pass a resolution to do that otherwise excerpt the first 100 pages and the rest excluded and then the full text must be available on the department website

now and in august i hope we'll present him with thanks and recognition to his recreation and parks dement. a couple of weeks ago we had a dedication at the new marina at the yacht harbor and they gave us $27 million for that project and there were other funders but that was the bulk of it, and i just wanted to acknowledge staff, phil, i thank everybody on it. it was a long haul. lots of community meetings and input and in the end it came out better ha i think anybody ex -- it came out better than neb expected and it looks beautiful. and he want to thank katie and anna and mary hopkins for all the work they did to make that a reality. and lastly, i see that this saturday at 10:00 we're going to dedicate sue bareman park so i want to say it's an appropriate recognition of a woman who gave to the planning commission and many others and the board of supervisors but 10:00 saturday we'll be dedicating that facility. that concludes my report. >> is there any public comment under the president's report. seeing none. we're on the general manager's report. >> good morning commissioners. i have item

the chair ruled for senator dement and he asked his colleagues to overrule the chair, changing the rules of the senate, and that was done. this gets to be a habit around ere, and our side is not happy with the power from the top, from the majority leader and how it is impacting the every day life in the senate, and we are not going to go quietly on this one. it is just a big deal, and the senate should avoid it. so therefore, i am pleased that at least we will have some sort of conference monday in which we can talk about the issue openly among ourselves and see if we can't avoid what could be a serious constitutional crisis. i believe we need to cool our heads down a bit and understand that the nature of the senate is the majority does not get everything it wants. i was here, and i remember how the judges situation developed. this is what happened. judges had traditionally not been filibustered. there had been a few attempts at it to delay votes and that sort of thing, and people were held up, but simic filibusterers were not at all rt of the tradition of the senate. bush was elected in
