welcome back to democracy now! lk about the situation on the ground in yemen right now. >> as you mention the humanitarian situation is really getting worse. i went to several of the remote areas where some of the internally displaced people, finding it increasingly difficult to get access to food and even water. on the military front, there is a stalemate on a lot of the dust on t side of t grod wa also u.s. offensi was launched on the red sea coast while i was in yemen in january that then pushed a lot of the civilian population into these incredibly remote areas where there are no aid agencies to support them and to provide shelter and to provide food. so across the country, really, it does not matter which side of the frontline you are. if you're civilian, people are finding it increasingly difficult to both access food and to be of low test to be able to afford to pay for food. many of the employees have not been paid for more than 6, 7 months. that reduces people's capacity to even purchase goods even when the

welcome to democracy now!, democracynow.org, the war and peace report. i'm amy goodman. surrounded by cocoal minerers, presesident trump p signed an executive order tuesday to dismantle a slew of climate rules established by president obama. if carried out, the executive order will nearly virtually guarantee that the united states will fail to meet its 2015 paris agreement pledge to reduce emissions in order to curb the effects of climate change. the executive order marks the first step to undo obama's clean power plan to limit power plant emissions and replace coal-fired power plants with new solar and wind farms. the clean power plan is considered to be a critical element of the u.s. plan to meet the targets established in the paris accord. environmental and civil rights groups have vowed to fight the executive order. on tuesday afternoon, protesters gathered in the freezing rain outside trump tower in manhattan to denounce the executive order. other demonstrators gathered outside the epa's headquarters in w

welcome to democracy now!s is an astounding case. this happened -- as alphonse maddin said, this case was heard by seven judges. only one ruled against him and that judge was the current supreme court nominee judge gorsuch. can you explain the course that this case took? >> yes. thank you for having me on. this case goes through an administrative proceeding to the department of labor -- that is where it starts initially -- through an investigation of the department of labor, then to a trial before an administrative law judge. the company had appealed our victory at trial to the administrative review board, which found unanimously now in favor. they then appealed to the 10th circuit -- because the trucking company is headquartered in kansas, which is in the 10th circuit. we were assigned a three-judge panel, which included judge gorsuch. amy: explain what happened there. there were three judges and they all ruled in his favor, that he could be reinstated and get back pay? >> the initial judge, the trial judge,
