i'm denise nakano. tonight as the family is mourning the loss of a mother of five, the animal shelter is working to help the dozens of pets impacted by the fiery crash. drew smith is outside that animal shelter in newcastle, and drew, this developed overnight. >> they had to get these animals out of here. the whole building had the sprinkler system going. apparently this woman was driving, ended up in this parking lot, jumped this curb and smashed into this wall. on the other side, there were a hundred animals in there. the brandywine animal shelter turned into crisis mode about 11:15 this morning. it happened when a van came crashing through the newcastle shelter. a dog and other cats did not survive. some of the animals are now in the organization's westchester location, busy today as they hope in a surge of adoptions to make room for the extra pets. >> some of the animals are terrified and others have bounced right back. >> this shows the impact zone, but fire, smoke and water from the sprinklers cre

good evening, i'm denise nakano.that suspect, david desner, surrendered to police early this morning. we're joined live at the chester county prison by lauren mayk. you spent the day talking to despner's neighbors. what did they tell you? they a . >> reporter: they are still reeling from this news. i spoke to a former schoolteacher who remembered him having anger issues, but other neighbors say they haven't seen a temper. lawmakers said this murder happened because he didn't want to give bay to a teenager trying to merge. >> he pulled out a gun and shot bianca in the head, killing her instantly. >> reporter: bianca roberson's family tearfully listening to how the 18-year-old was killed. they sat together, leaning on each other for support as the district attorney announced they have the man believed responsible. 28-year-old david desper turned himself in early this morning, four days after police started searching for the driver who pulled a gun on route 100. has he been here the past couple days? >> no, he has not.

denise nakano explain why it's coming out right now and bringing out memories for the people who witnessed it. >> reporter: a shootout in atlantic city between seven officers and a man armed with a gun shown in graphic detail. dash cam video captured the hail of gunfire, while the man's shooting at police and officers firing at least 69 rounds, hitting watson at least 45 times. he led officers on a more than ten-mile pursuit back in march of 2014. speeds reached up to 85 miles per hour through stoplights and stop signs. he struck several cars along the way. it started here in the parking lot of a mexican restaurant and bar where he was a regular. and witnesses saw him point a gun toward the ceiling. the restaurant owner remembered the shock he felt, learning a customer he saw just minutes earlier was at the center of a high-speed chase and police shootout. >> we were surprised. >> reporter: the shooting happened from the ex-mess wpres a shopping area known as "the walk." >> i think they should be available to everybody for the simple fact they'll be able to see what's going on. >> reporter

. >> denise nakano is out there with details on this fast-changing situation. denise? >> reporter: i just spoke with investigators. they wrapped up for the night just a few blocks away from here. they'll be back tomorrow morning. they're making progress with a collection of evidence, this as investigators are honing in on one man they took into custody on an unrelated gun charge. the search for four missing young men in bucks county centered on the township. investigators worked into the evening under canopies and tents, setting down police markers. they looked for evidence of the four young men who disappeared within days of each other this past week. family members stayed within range of the search that utilized heavy machinery in a back field. investigators are looking for any sign that will bring them closer to finding 19-year-old jimmy patrick, 18-year-old dean, 22-year-old mark sturgis and 21-year-old tom mio. the investigation focused on a farm at 2022 new hope. >> we're getting strong indications this is where we need to focus the majority of our resources. >>

good evening, i'm denise nakano. police tell us that man was also shot eight times and right now they're working to figure out exactly what happened to this victim and who he is. nbc 10's drew smith is live in bridesburg tonight with more on this developing story. drew? >> reporter: denise, it was 5:00 this morning, workers were just arriving to the job site on the other side of that fence but it was here in this lot, see the evidence markers, that marks the spot where this man was shot, set on fire and dumped here on the pavement. an industrial section of bridesburg became a crime scene early saturday. you see workers in vests speaking with police after they ran over to put out a fire which turned out to be a man's body. shot up to eight times, doused in accelerant, and set on fire. >> that's absolutely crazy. >> reporter: the quick way transfer station closed at noon. its manager did not want to comment, but another worker told me the whole thing is disturbing. witnesses saw a sedan driving off from the scene, but

we're beginning to begin with denise nakano. she's live at police headquarters. what's the latest there? >> reporter: we know he's been named a person of interest, but this is the first charge connecting him to wub of the missing men. he was arraigned here in bensalem. we see sky force 10 over the same path he took earlier this week when he was booked on an unrelated gun charge anden sent to jail to be bailed out by his father yesterday. in the past 25 minutes, we saw dinardo then taken away by the police van to the bucks county prison for the second time this week. this is all thkz a stolen car. he tried to sell the car to a friend for $500. that was found with the unsigned title on a property owned by the family. >> there's no legal exchange of that video. his diabetic hit was found in that vehicle. >> the search tr the four missing men intensified today. on the turnpike asking for any tips or information. and earlier today a pairs of came to the home in bensalem and tok him into custody. now the district attorney said he would push for a higher bail. >> team c
