dennis bagwell was 61 years old, he has a limp. the last time we saw him was on february 10 when he was assigned a new public defender. entering a plea has been postponed a couple of times. the last time he was supposed to be here was february 29. he didn't show. a judge granted the d.a. office's request to bar bagwell from practicing as an optician. he was teaching at union city's bay area optical schools where he met iryna smith, a student, a woman he became obsessed with according to court documents. her husband agent robert suplik also 61 is the man that bagwell allegedly shot back in february in front of the couple's home. suplik did survive but was seriously hurt. suplik confronted bagwell before the shooting telling him to leave the couple alone after he was spotted lurking in the bushes outside their home. the families of both men have remained tight-lipped, very private in this. not sure if they will be here as he is expected to be back in court at 9:00. live at the hall of justice, stephanie chuang, "today in the bay." >>
