the police chief, dennis cain, was coming out of sumner with his lights and sirens on.wn, let him make the corner to head south. he made that corner and i was in behind him at that point in time. so, he's the lead in the chase. >> at the next intersection, chief cain overshoots the corner. now driscoll is in the lead. mumford now unloads a barrage of gunfire at officer driscoll. >> shots fired! shots fired! >> it sounded like a rock hit my car. i thought to myself, i'm not close enough to them for that to be a rock. >> moments later a bullet slams through the center of driscoll's windshield just to the right of where his dash cam is pointing. >> it blew out my back window. put shards all over my back seat. i got scrunched way down behind my dashboard as low as i could get, slammed on my brakes, and i called out over my radio, "shots fired, shots fired, shots fired." >> we have shots fired. got two shots on my vehicle. >> all of a sudden, i see ben's squad car. it was weaving in and out on the gravel like it was out of control. finally, it had come to the right-hand side

. >> reporter: dennis cain has been the owner of the liberty gas station along north washington street for more than 20 years. today he's as shocked as anyone. >> first time. first for everything. >> reporter: according to cain, the robbery suspect got behind the counter after the clerk failed to close a gate. you can see him demand the money, and he appears to leave. with cash and cigarettes in hand, that's when the suspect makes a break for the door, but instead of pulling the door open, he tries to push his way out, and gets stuck. that's when the robber gets frustrated, thinking the clerk locked him in, so he returns and fires one shot. hitting the man in the hip area. >> i get off at work at 11:00, and we come here about 11:30, 12:00. >> reporter: yeah, on a regular basis? >> yeah, to get gas. >> reporter: she is a regular here and says the customer service is the reason why. >> the clerk did exactly what we tell people to do. you know, if there is a weapon involved, comply with the suspect's demands. and he did what he should have. and then the suspect still shot him, which is co

cain got injured, he is coming in to pitch. you are right. there is a significant drop off. >> thanks dennis. >>> well tonight, a group of people were just trying to get home and then this happened. their bus burst into flamesful it was one of those corporate buses that carry employing to and from silicon valley and san francisco. andria borba got to the scene fast. >> reporter: the fire burned hot enough to blow the windows out of the bus. firefighters were able to put it out quickly, but it was enough to stall traffic for two hours. that was the aftermath and here are the flames. there were 18 employees on the bus when they smelled trouble. >> i'm from jersey, you smell stuff in jersey. didn't think much of it as first. >> we started to smell smoke so we pulled over. got off the shuttle. then there was more smoke, then a pop and fire. >> reporter: everyone got out and then the flames took over. the heat nearly igniting trees on the side of northbound 280 and melting plastic on the bus. >> the driver kind of pulled over really great and yeah. we are all good. >> reporter: netflix sent anoth
