dennis fluitt: oh, yeah. you know, i mean, he-- you saw a complete change. dennis murphy: don turned his life around. at twenty-six, he got married, had two kids. but the marriage didnt last. his kids moved to oklahoma with their mom, but daughter tiffany says, don never stopped being a loving father. dennis murphy: so he really had to go out of his way to keep you two in his life, too? huh? tiffany fluitt: oh, and he did. josh fluitt: oh, he did. absolutely. dennis murphy: albuquerques a far piece away. tiffany fluitt: it is. he always made the drive, though. dennis murphy: when don was in his late thirties, he decided to pursue a childhood dream--to become a firefighter. dennis joked with him. told him he was too old, but that didnt stop don. dennis murphy: was it the adrenaline, you think, running hot when its all going down or-- dennis fluitt: maybe. i just think that he cared for people and he wanted to do his part to save as many lives as he could. dennis murphy: and soon don met dennis neighbor. a woman
