joining me now is chief investment officer, nancy tangler, investment fund chairman dennis gartman and we're expecting a lower opening for the broader averages this morning. we had another record setter yesterday. the dow and s&p 500 finished at record highs in the first trading session after the holiday. fiscal stimulus, vaccinations flooding the u.s., obviously pushing stocks higher. where are you allocating capital? what sectors do you want to focus on here? >> first of all, ts elliott said april is the cruelest month. he was wrong when it comes to stocks because april is always the strongest month. we have a fed that continues to be expansionary along with monetary authorities around the world of consequence. i think stock prices are extremely high, overextended. fading the trend, taking the fed to task for what they've been doing has been a mug's game. i continue to want to own simple things, goodyear tire which is up 50% for the year-to-date, timkin roller bearing, up 75% for the year-to-date. simple things that do well in growing economic activity. i was out -- my wife and i wer

dennis gartman, we're still getting the news and information on this pause that the united states isthe j & j vaccine with clearly markets are looking at this story as if, perhaps, this is a pause in the reopening. that's going to impact the economy. that's going to impact jobs. that's going to impact normalization. j & j shares are down almost 3% right now on this report. again, that the united states is calling for a pause on the j & j vaccine after clotting cases according to the new york times. your reaction to this impact? >> clearly, it's not good news. this is just coming out in the last 15 or 20 minutes. we've been opening, we've been the economy has been opening on vaccines on a better circumstance prevailing concerning covid-19 all of a sudden we have a news that's very deleterious, so i thought stock prices were extremely high to begin with and i'm not surprised we're seeing this sort of reaction and we'll see if the reaction continues through the course of the day and as i said i've been expecting to see stock prices decline. i think the news has been deleterious for stoc

joining me is the university of akron's investment fund chairman, dennis gartman, payne capital managementagement president, steve dudash. thank you for being here. steve, on earnings season, we're in the middle of the first quarter reporting season. we just heard from johnson & johnson, it beat expectations this morning. we're expecting some results or solution on the pause on its covid vaccine, sooner rather than later. they're talking about potentially this week, friday, in terms of that pause going away. dow component travelers posted a double beat moments ago. we're waiting on others, procter & gamble, lockheed martin as well. netflix will be out after the close. how do assess the earnings? >> everyone is going to beat earnings, everyone is going to have really good growth potential on the next quarter. that's the easy story. the harder part is what are they really going to do with it? how much better is it going to be? procter & gamble, they made a lot of money last year off hoarding and things like that. all they were doing is taking this year's profits and pushing it into last year
