and earlier this month i joined dennis herrera and the commissioners from the puc at the hetch hetchy reservoir a really long drive. the story of our water system begins over 100 miles away. we commemorated the anniversary because of the foresight those who came before us. we are blessed because san francisco has some of best drinking water. you don't have to filter it you drink it directly out of the faucet. it is clean, reliable and it continues to receive rave reviews today. through a multiyear billion dollars investment program by puc, we are upgrading our water system to last for hoorth hundred years and building resilience in the face of new challenges the system's original engineers never would have predicted. the work does not stop there. we also need to rethink how we manage the resources we embrace for additional extreme weather condition thanksgiving includes diversifying our water supply. promoting conversation. yellow, mellow. brown. flush it down. remember this in elementary school. implementing our water reuse strategies. i'm excited one of the project beneficiaries is
