[ male announcer ] it's how e edward jones makes sense of investing. ♪ >> i'm dennis kneale. we've been looking at disney earnings the stock is up nicely after-hours. it has bun of the best collection of media assets but how well-managed are the assets? take a look at five main business segments much disney. all five reported higher revenue than a year ago, and yet all five segments end up reporting bigger increases than actual earnings on that revenue growth. that shows tight management and tight cost control. so media, it's a $5 billion a quarter business, up 4% in sales but up 20% in earnings. theme parks, almost a $4 billion a quarter business. up 16% in earnings. studios because of frozen and thor, two billion dollar business in the quarter. earnings leverage up 75%. same for consumer products. interactive, up $400 million business in the quarter. revenue up almost 40% and profits up well over doubling this kind ever shows you the leverage disney gets when they manage the assets that anyone would envy but manage them especially well. now back to our anchors. david: boy,

it's how edward jones makesense of investing. dennisnicole petallides on the floor of the stock exchange, you are looking at today's big losers. nicole: looking at our losers we have seen retailers coming under pressure from the transportation index which has been under pressure as well. let's look also at the dow jones industrials up 21 points. we have seen back-and-forth action throughout the day. the high, we see it moving 15,473, we are less than ten points off of the highs of the day. a big move to the upside, still down for the week down 1.4% for the dow jones industrials, down for the s&p 500 down 1.5% and still in pullback mode, 5% or more off of the highs of these indices. not great for the bulls out there, very crucial time in the market. dennis: thank you very much. the s&p 500 not below the 200 day moving average, 1709. can it hold at these levels or are we in store for future declines? for that let's turn to the senior investment strategist for raymond james. you are optimistic. you think the naysayers who think we will bre

dennis and cheryl. what to i think? well, a couple of things i'm watching ery closely. the dow jonesabout 1%. the s&p 500 also up 1% sitting at 1768. tech-heavy nasdaq with a gain of 43 points, but when you watch the dow jones industrials up about 1450 points right now -- 150 points right now, what's interesting is it crawls back up above the 200-day moving average. that's a good, telltale sign. but the question is whether or not it holds that level. analysts will be watching that closely. vixx has been the lowest level since we've seen since last trued, so things have reserved to a certain extent. however, we are still down for this week. we did get in some good news from disney, so we've seen some up arrows on some of these companies, been helping the ddw along as well. back to you. dennis: all right. thank you, nicole. and some of the biggest stocks on the street already in correction mode with more than half of the s&p 500's companies down 10% or more from recent highs. rob hover morgan -- morgan joins us now, and, rob, is this profit taking or are investors losing hope? >> well,
