we are pleased to be joined by author, journalist and prager university founder, dennis prager. welcome back to the book tv set. i'm going to ask you a question i do not ask many people when i start an interview, what is on your mind these days? mr. prager: i am worried about western civilization. the greatest civilization that was ever produced, if you care about liberty, if you care about women and their status in society, if you care about uplifting the poor, if you care about creating a non-bigoted society, and of course my favorite liberty. without liberty everything is useless. i do believe give me liberty or give me death. i actually subscribe to that. it is hard to believe, but western civilization is being threatened. the very notion that there is no better or worse, that equity trumps merit, so that we will -- the oregon education department in ontario education department, the largest province in canada have announced that it is white supremacy or colonialism to argue to maintain that there is only one correct answer in mathematics. so everything we have built the west

you you mentioned dennis prager. what is prager? you prager, you is an alternative as as our educational system has declined in recent decades. prager u. offers an alternative. it began with a series of five minute videos where you could tune in and you watch a complex subject or question distilled down into 5 minutes. there are hundreds and hundreds of these videos. they've gotten billions of views online. and then prager you branched out. prager you has a number of other series as a number of influencers. you speak to young people on college campuses. has prager force which which goes out and spreads the message and then has my favorite my favorite show rather at prager u which is the book club. and so it's it's not a four year degree. it's amazing how sometimes prager u's opponents will say you're masquerading as a university. my answer to that is, oh, we would never do such a thing. we have far more respect for ourselves than to call ourselves a modern university. no. prager, u. is offering an educational alternative to people w

dennis prager will be here later. we are pleased to be joined now by author and town hall columnist, kirk -- kurt schlichter. his book is we will be back, the fall and rise of america. he is a novelist. i'm going to start with a non-book issue. in a recent town hall column, you had a column that was entitled, if i was trump's lawyer, how i would handle his case. what is the answer to that question? >> [laughter] i am still writing about it. i am a trial lawyer in california. i am not a new york lawyer. i'm not a criminal lawyer. i am an aggressive lawyer. i think they are taking it too slow. i think they are treating it like a legal case, rather than a political case. it is a legal case, it is nonsense. these elected crimes are ridiculous. everyone knows that. will they be thrown out like they would for anybody else, that is an open question. i would move aggressively, motions to dismiss. i would set the battlefield up. i went to the army war call. my strategy would be fighting in the political arena -- most of the th

we learned that when we put on this event with charlie kirk and dennis prager and it drove them crazyo metal with the classroom and they don't want conservative speakers to speak on campus and if they do, they try to limit what they say and they don't want them to say anythingd offend some of their students. >> jesse: but they want your money. they want your money no questions asked, no strings attached. officially, the official that you talked about addressed arizona state lawmakers yesterday about how bad it really was at this school. >> the barrett faculty took their condemnation campaign. the faculty viciously and publicly attacked lewis center donors. the barrett dean censored speech. >> laura: tom, censored speech, attacked the donor. that's you. >> that's right. having a problem that we have here is that the faculty at most public universities are given a complete free rein in the classroom and a lot of them are radical. a lot of them don't really want to teach. but they've also redefined academic freedom. that used to mean faculty's right to pursue truth in their discipline wi
