on the death of legendary ktvu anchor dennis richmond, we want to bring in rita williams, longtime reporterere at ktvu. many of her stories, of course, aired on the 10:00 news over the years. she joins us now to share some of her thoughts. rita, we appreciate the time. obviously, a really difficult day for everyone in the ktvu family here. where have your thoughts been going today since you learned of this news? >> thanks, alex. alex, i got to say that i am trying to be positive and celebrate a life well lived, and to me, that is indeed what dennis has given to all of us. is his life well lived? and i have been in touch with his wife and others and him over the last few months, and i think we knew this was inevitable. and it's sad. but at the same time, all these fond memories, fun, good. dennis was one of a kind, and i remember some of the fun things people would say like, oh, i moved away from the bay area and i came back and he was still the anchorman. and that is indeed i mean, he was he he was there the longevity. and to me, dennis had the gravitas. he looked dignified. he wasn't rattl

williams, you know, kind of the ktvu family of yesterday and yesteryear. we as soon as the news came out, we all started calling each other and just being together. a tribute to what dennis was to all of us. >> indeed. i you know, i think about how dennis richmond, when i came here, i didn't know my way around or many people he had take my number. it was his personal number and we didn't talk often, but from time to time we would just talk. and he wanted to hear what i thought. i really wanted to hear what he thought. and he was always kind to me. my wife and my family. he was just a great man. and for many of our ktvu viewers, dennis richmond was part of the family. still is a fixture. every night on the 10:00 news, and he clearly stayed in their memories even after he left the business. >> i know this happened to you, but like every every day up until like yesterday, if you're out reporting, even if you're just at the grocery store, people say, hey, how's dennis? first name basis. right. how's dennis? how's he doing all the time? people in alameda. we're talking with frank mallicoat yesterday, after learning the news about what dennis meant to them. >> he was always th
