dennis: i'm dennis kneale in for melissa francis. good evening. the top story, 85 richest have half the world's wealth. a new study says 85 richest people on earth have same money as bottom half combined. wealth distribution is huge topic right now. with us is the one of the authors of that report nick galaso. thanks for being with us, nick. the idea these 85 people are way too rich seems a controversial note as you head into davos. it's a nice headline. what should be done about it? >> we're worried about such great inequality of wealth we're worried about how the wealth gets used. is it used to buy political influence, for example, that could distort democratic processes. what we're asking folks at davos is to take the pledge. that pledge is to fight financial secrecy, not dodge taxes in countries where they work and invest, to support the minimum wage across the planet. and to support social protection programs. to make more equality between men and women in the work place. dennis: right and support. >> support progressive taxtation for year. d

dennis: that is the key.and cutback a lot faster. in 2012 by road dropped the 20 year lows in carbon emissions in the u.s. chipping from coal to natural gas because the price was better. the government grants flooding into solar it did distort the market so that wrong ideas that back because they had more government support and better ideas elsewhere? >> absolutely. the doesn't -- the government doesn't do a good job picking winners and losers on the corporate side with oil and gas credits, with intangible drilling credits the government is better by saying if you do something we will give you a tax credit or what not but even those are getting phased out. got wind one was that is out last year and sold one will be phased out in 2016. dennis: with it never needed to begin with or does it mean the government has done an excellent job and now we are ready to move on without government? >> it is hard for me to say in the past but when you look at government's real role, basic r&d, figuring out to invest in new i

dennis: okay.k to the dow -- can we get to 17,500 on dow without a correction, or do we go down 10% before we hit that level? >> yeah, you can go down ten before you hit that level. you're probably going to see somewhere less than that, dennis. maybe one of the bigger corrections we had in the past year was close to ten, that was last june. and i think katie's point is right. the support that's been there has held in the past pullbacks. if you're looking at a number on the dow, is it 17 5rbgz and then we get that 10% pullback, i think we have a better shot at dow 20,000 than we do at 12 or 12. it's going to be a higher market going forward than it is pullbacks because people are going to come in and buy this thing with any weakness. dennis: you're a lot more bullish than we're kind of billing you. katie, do you agree with the trends he's talking about? >> the trends are certainly herer here and globally, so that's with my call as well. the momentum favors upside for the major indie sees. the key no
