dennis, what are you expecting next week? >> i expect the fed to do exactly what the fed has said it's going to do, it's going to raise the overnight fed funds rate by 25 basis points and the odds are that shall be the end of it. i always thought we get to 5 and a quarter, 5 and-a-half, we're there. it's done. the fed will move the overnight fed funds rate to 25 basis points and i suspect at the september meeting will probably request no change in the monetary policy but it will be a long period of time, way into 2024 before the fed begins the process of allowing the overnight fed funds rate to decline. there's a big number next week is the pce comes out on friday afternoon. the fed has probably -- will have seen the number before the fomc meeting. i don't think there will be any surprises in that number. we saw the pce for june was up 0.1%. the core a was up 0.3% and the year over year number was up 4.3%. those numbers will probably be duplicated when the pce number comes out on friday. that's probably the most important num

maria: dennis, your thoughts on where to invest at this point? there are some areas that certainly have been impacted much more than others as a result of these high rates. are there areas to hide? >> i think looking at copper, it makes some sense. i think looking at commodity prices at these low levels makes some sense. i think looking at regional banks and some r.e.i.t.s makes some sense. good yields, some dividends, dividends that are reasonably -- are very well covered. those are places i would take a look. owning commodities i think make sense at this point. the economy is still quite strong surprisingly but the economy continues to be strong. the problem shall be we'll have import prices coming out this morning and import prices for june should be down a tenth of 1%. a lot of that will be predicated upon a strong dollar that occurred in april, may and june and the dollar has come under very strong resistance in the course of the past several days so the import numbers will look negative this morning and they shall be negative today. maria:
