i'm meteorologist eboni deon. we're taking a look at the temperatures with a dividing line with temperatures in the mid 70s at this hour. we'll continue to feel the heat building here across the southern plains, this is an area where we'll see temperatures climbing in the 90s, and possibly getting warmer than that. so a lot of records are in jeopardy for today and on into our tuesday as well. the heat will be sticking around. good news for those who have lived across the northern tier this heat will be expanded making it's way to the north and east, and temperatures warming up well above average. for those of you in chicago it will stay on the cooler side. mid 50s that will be about it. temperatures will at least get in the mid 60s. this is closer to normal. by the time we get into the middle of the week we'll need to watch the skies, we're expecting highs near 80 dress on wednesday with thunderstorms, and then by thursday, 86 degrees. so don't be worried that warmth is going to make it into the area. for now it's

i'm meteorologist eboni deon. we have wet and stormy conditions as high pressure builds. we're dealing with a lot of moisture coming off the gulf of mexico. really pumping up that gulf of mexico moisture all the way into parts of the upper midwest where that moisture is interacting with an area of low pressure. we're dealing with a frontal boundary that is stalling out here. a lot of rain and threat of strong to severe storms. right now most of the rain has been over louisiana. as we head a little further north we've been watching the rain across i-80 and heavier rain moving into western areas of cans. as we track this wet weather throughout the day you have to keep an eye out across central and northern portions o minnesota and wisconsin. we could see two to three inches in those localized areas and that could cause flooding. keep that in mind. damaging winds and large hail will be a good bet and a few isolated tornadoes can't be ruled out. so pretty active weather. we've been watching this flare-up of storms around new orleans throughout the morning. it's still raining

i am meteorologist eboni deon. we are feeling the heat across much of the south. it will make way to the northeast and east through the next 48 hour. in chicago, today, we are only going to make it into the mid and upper 50s. below average by about 10 to degrees thanks to the clouds. we are getting a push of cooler air as the winds come down from the north and northwest. on monday, a little more sunshine returns and finally, by tuesday, we will make it into the mid 60 did, getting a little bit closer to normal. take a look at thursday. >> is when temperatures will peak in the low 80s. going from below average to well above. now, temperatures here across much of texas, the southern plains, we have been dealing with near record high temperatures. we started off the weekend with highs in the 90s. we will see a repeat of that again today. unfortunately, with the heat, it is very dry and so we are dealing with red flag warnings, not a good idea to do any kind of burning in this area. we just don't have enough moisture in place. any fires that do erupt, we can see them
