i'm meteorologist eboni deon. we have storms in the central portion of the u.s. and that extends from minnesota all the way southward down to oklahoma. it includes parts of kansas as well as missouri. now today's threat will be damaging winds and hail. i want to show you some video out of that area where it picked out a lot of dust and debris. not quite a tornado but it can cause a lot of damage on the order of ef 1. in that part of the state conditions have cleared but we're still watching for a cold front that continues to move onto the east. that area did get hit with a lot of hail and we could see hail with the storms we're following today. let's take a look at where we are with the thunderstorms warnings. we're in oklahoma and storms are moving off to the east around 25 mph. so you can bet on heavy rainfall. heavy rain has been the issue here in parts of midwest. into minnesota we have seen several inches of rainfall. in minneapolis. we have flooding video where we have roads just completely washed out. it's been very difficult to get around as we see more r

i'm eboni deon tracking the flood across the midwest. we have a number of warning advisories. the risk of flash flooding across north dakota. as you can see here on our satellite radar there is a lot of rain across the dakotas. further south we have been watching a cluster of storms moving from east to west across northern areas of oklahoma, and it looks like now into parts of kansas we're namely in the clear. we can see storms firing up later today. this is taken from a storm chaser in wallace county. you're seeing a gust that bricks up debris and can cause quite a bit of damage. although short-lived it can cause the damage equivalent to an ef-0 tornado. off to the east we have heavy rainfall and stronger storms as we get into the afternoon and evening. that does include kansas city, minneapolis as we check out the next three days of precipitation. this darker red shading indicating where we could see two upwards to three inches of rainfall. our rivers that have overrun their banks will stay on the high side through the fourth of july weekend before they start to recede below

spring winds down there is a possibility of severe weather in the national forecast for today and eboni deonoins us now with the latest on that. >> reporter: that's right, morgan, it's going to be an active day across parts of the midwest where right now it's mainly all rain. we've had a few isolated receiver thunderstorm warnings. really the bulk of the rain has been across minnesota. we started off dry, and seeing that rain coming down it's going to continue to be the trend. in the later hours of the day we could be dealing with thunderstorms. and we'll see that all the way down to lubbock texas. home had a, lincoln, we're watching for very large hail as well as isolated tornadoes. as for the timing of all of them we'll see conditions deteriorating as we get into the late afternoon and into this evening. notice i'm stopping this through the overnight hours. that's where we'll see it pushing through eastern areas of nebraska and then on to iowa as we head out on father's day, chicago, st. louis will be in line for thunderstorm activity. as again it's this area here at highest risk. as we go
