motor vehicle accident. when they found the young woman. she had multiple injuries consistent with being an assault woman. they assessed the injuries, and the alameda county fire department also responded. because ofife-threatening injuries, the distance between here and -- they decided it would be in her best interest to do an emergency air flight. the helicopter transported her to eden hospital. she went to eden hospital. where they tried to save her life. she was pronounced dead at 4:30 this morning. this obviously became now a homicide scene. we have closed the -- done a soft closure of the road so we can check the scene. we believe she was dumped out of a vehicle and left for dead. and she was able to crawl up to the roadway and then get spotted by the motorist. and she hung onto life for about two more hours but unfortunately was pronounced dead. so at this time, we're obviously doing our homework and trying to find out how this terrible tragedy happened to this young woman and who is responsible for it. we have investigators out doing follow-up. we're not willing to identify her. as a matter of fact, we just notified her family as you can imagine they'll be devastated by this news. and it's
