derek ward now live with an update on how things look in montgomery county. derek?: good morning again. we are at the intersection of east summit and diamond. and i guess this typifies the tale of two, maybe three surfaces. take a look. you see a road -- this is a secondary road. heavily traveled but not a main road. has been treated, and we've seen some spreaders come through here since we've been here. what they're doing now is they're not necessarily plowing butting down salt or sand. something to sort of melt that snow and give you traction. as you see, traffic is moving well. if you look here in the foreground at the sidewalk, there's a paved sidewalk, pretty clear, pretty much clear. this is all ice. this is what pedestrians have to deal with. and we actually caught up with a gentleman who ventured out for the first time since the snow began. today, his challenge is just trying to get to work. >> today is the first morning i'm head back to work. >> reporter: what was it like getting to the bus stop for you? >> it's not hard. they got everything paved. pretty e
