well, tonight, a manchester teenager was honored for his courage. help, west high school senior desmond powell had no idea that he was going to be recognized at the school committee meeting tonight. wmur' s mike cronin explains what desmond did. mike: it was the actions that he took at this bridge in manchester that has many calling him a hero, but that is a title he is not quite comfortable with. 17-year-old desmond powell thought he was at the manchester committee meeting just to lead the pledge of allegiance, but to his surprise, the focus was on hand. mayor: i know this young man doesn' t want to be called a hero, but he is truly, truly a hero.
