further south across portions of highlands county and into desoto county we're looking at pockets of heavier rain there but as far as the severe weather threat, that is pretty much done at this point. so we'll continue to see this pushing to the south and east. by the way, we've had some pockets of 1 1/2 to 1-inch totals to the south, a half- inch. thankfully this came through rather quickly or we had have have more issues with flooding. this is gone by lunchtime and 70 degrees and we're mild by the time we get to 5:00. the issue is we're not looking at strong winds this morning and behind the fronts, that is usually what helps to get the strong winds, that dries the roads, not the case this morning, still wet. >> it was very wet when i drove in this morning. i imagine if you're heading out you want to be careful. corey dierdorff behind the wheel now heading to a fatal crash in polk county. scene of that mile marker 42, the vehicle that was involved that had the person that died in it is actually in the westbound lanes. but there are two lanes blocked right now on the -- one on the e

this will be heading across desoto county into 17. may get just an edge of that storm system as it's coming through. i'll too many back in here across the manatee area. this is just to the east of parish. you can see it across 62. still getting heavy downpours there. this is headed off to the northeast. fortunately this is not a course it's a concern. as i look, duet, you're in the path of this heavier rain into baird. you may be seeing some of this as well if this holds together. it is moving about 35 miles per hour. the other storm system that's farther to the south that is moving into the venice and englewood area. this is moving slower at only about 25 miles per hour. so as we take a look at some of the storm tracks here, and we just look at what the -- what the data is showing. it looks like the most likely scenario out of this, in addition to those strong damaging winds would be hail. this is saying that that particular cell is moving east at about 34 miles per hour. so the general movement of that storm is more to the east than

so we did have one that was just there on the corner of desoto county going into polk county earlier as a tornado report. the only one reported with any charlotte. it was a bunch of trees down, some light posts and windows in a building damaged. so really minimal in comparison to what others have seen we still have heavy rain moving out of highlands right now. a few patchy showers in polk county. the rest of the night what you will notice the most is the winds. we have gusts in the 30 miles per hour range. and sustained winds coming in behind the front as high as 25 miles per hour. so expect it to be breezy, gusty at times, and cooler air moving in. you will be waking up tomorrow morning to temperatures in the low 50s in tampa. we will see at least partial clearing of the skies here tonight. no more significant rain for the rest of the evening. but i'll show you what is ahead. slight chances for rain. and also how long those winds will stick around coming up. >> right now, probably the most dramatic video of the damage we have seen so far, this is from a drone. this the pensacola are

a few more may develop into hardy and desoto counties through the late afternoon and into the early evening. but that is about it. that is really from the southerly flow. that is not necessarily from the front. but tomorrow morning around 9:00 that is when we start to see the leading edge of the moisture, associated with that front. it's going to build through the day though. so the first half of the day maybe a hit or miss shower, then becomes more widespread through the afternoon and into the evening. at this point doesn't look like organized, we're going to see a few thunderstorms in the mix but looks like the garden variety. a good amount of rain, some heavy at times, then the weekend, this is just where there's a lot of question marks. the models are inconsistent and conflicting. not easy to forecast when that happens so at this point we know we have another low pressure system that will roll its way across our state between saturday and sunday, at this point looks like the best chance of rain will be through the afternoon on saturday and then coming to an end at some point on sunday.
