power has been restored fully now, but as kpix 5's devin fehely reports, the outage forced businesses to shut down a bart station. >> reporter: the power went out roughly run some:00 this morning, affecting businesses across berkeley, and parts of the east bay, and most notably, the downtown berkeley bart station. the outage knocked out power in service to the downtown berkeley board station, where the gates remain close and lights out after it was scheduled to open. >> i am inconvenienced. i thought i would take a bus with the car. >> reporter: pg&e says the outage affected about 20,000 customers in berkeley, and east bay. businesses in the bay were forced to close, if they ever opened their doors in the first place. >> i was finished running up a customer, and we already had some customers who had bought stuff, they were sitting in our lobby, and then the power just went out. just like that. >> reporter: in the downtown station, bart brought a backup generator. but struggled to get the gates open, even when the power was on. most customers waited patiently for the power to be restor
