. >>> i'm devin fehely in the newsroom. retail theft regrettably is nothing new in san francisco, but we had one of our producers and he just happened to be at a walgreens near civic center when a group of several shoplifters started brazenly filling bags with merchandise. check out this video he shot on his phone, seven or eight people seen ripping items off the shelf and leaving a mess on the floor before walking out. employees watched them without interfering. some other shoppers recorded what happened as well. the store is located on market and ninth streets. this happened around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. police say they showed up about four hours later. the store was closed by then. they did leave some information about reporting criminal incidents. the city has said it's focusing on stopping organized retail theft for a while now. last month they announced hundreds of security cameras will be going up around the city to fight crime. automated license plate readers are being installed at 100 intersections in early marc
