you look at the dewpoints we we call it the dewpoint depression, the difference between the dewpoint and the temperature, and the smaller it is, really, see fog. the other ingredient we looking are light across the area, and you combine that and you have dewpoints close to temperature and skies becoming clear and it's really a recipe for seeing fog develop overnight. you have a little bit more moisture near the ground and that helps to said the stage for fog as well, and could be locally dense but by 10:00, 11:00, it should be nice, by saturday night, though, we shift our attention once again back to the gulf. another strong low looking to form in the gulf and that sets the stage for more severe weather, saturday into sunday morning. temperature-wise, we are at 63 right now, that is above arrange for this time of year, and it's look what is coming. you head up into canada and we have the next arctic outbreak. it's 20 below in yellow knife, and 15 below in winnipeg, and 2 below in pickle lake. this is headed towards the lower 48 and we'll see some of that early next week, in terms of

the dewpoint taos are in the 60s. much drier air though across the panhandle. 20-degree dewpoint number. very, very dry. drier atmosphere as high pressure moves in. this cold front continues to push down to the south. rain is wrapping up to the west. but we'll leave it in the forecast. clouds around two. this will all change southward with that front as it allows the cooler temperatures. that's what the wrap model says for us. here's some rain still in the forecast for the evening hours. although lighter certainly. and about 10:00 you could see a few light rain showers to the west. clouds start to end as well. as you see into the early part of friday. by the friday toward sunrise looks like it'll be breezy and the sun will return shouldn't be a bad day over all. we're looking for much more sunshine. tomorrow afternoon still breezy with below average temperatures. then for saturday, high pressure sits right on top of us by sunday wind shifts a little bit. and we're a bit milder. 72degrees for sunday. don't those cool c

now, these are the dewpoint temperatures and they are very low. so, every time any self- respecting snowflake tries to fall into the air, it evaporates, or supplement and just goes away, but, if the snow continues to fall, it gradually moistens they are up, and we can see the effects of that out here in greensboro. their dewpoint is up to 21. snow has been falling aloft for several hours now. it has finally been able to moist enough the environment so the snowflakes are reaching the ground and we will probably see the dewpoint across the rest of the area come up a little bit this evening as that process plays out over central and eastern north carolina. but again it's going to be difficult for this to turn into as we take a look at our sky cam we are looking at fountain mountain in its infant stages. that will probably be grown some over the coming days. right now temperatures are above freezing everywhere locally and if we brought in the view, we see the same story. that is also helpful, the fact that we got above freezing and had sunshine earlie

some areas of getting some snow falling across western parts of these are dewpoint temperatures, the bigger the spread between the temperature and the dew point, the dryer the air. a lot of this will if apple a before it reaches the ground. still there's a chance of a few flurries or a burst of heavier snow as this tracks eastward. it's already over back toward winston-salem and charlotte. this will be in and out of here in the next few hours. there may be a spot or two that gets accumulation on the roadways, untreated roads and bridges and overpasses. less than a half-inch for just about all areas. this is the winter storm watch, a not too common blizzard watch from washington to baltimore. back to the first system, notice that computer model has it nailed down where it is but breaks it up as it moves eastward. it should dry out and anything we do get should be very light. maybe if you traffic problems but it's gone by 10:00 or 11:00. the national weather service told us they will expand it over to include raleigh durham but it has not shown up on their automated graphic yet. there
