i'm diane dwyer. thanks for joining us for this special edition of nbc bay area news.nd we begin with the heartbreaking development tonight for the family of 20-year-old brett olson from the east bay. fishermen found olson's body in the sacramento river this morning not far from where he was last seen near chico a week ago. family and friends of olson searched tirelessly for him this past week. they handed out flyers throughout the chico area and started a social media campaign in hopes of bringing him home alive. olson grew up in lafayette and was going to college at cal poly in san luis obispo. a twitter feed called remember scott olson is currently filled with memories. cal poly president jeffrey armstrong is reaching out to olson's family tonight saying, "it's painful for all of us at cal poly to lose someone whose life was filled with so many dreams and hopes. our deepest sympathies are with the olson family as they move through this difficult time. and a memorial vigil for brett olson is planned for tuesday night at akalanis high school in lafayette. >>> we do ha
