cbs 2news' diane macedo has more. >> reporter: chris and mary. that's right. police are saying last night here at the pier 1 import as man with a mask and gun tied up the victims and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. the latest scenario in one of eight armed robberies that happened in a similar manner here on long island. police are investigating to see if they are connected. suffolk county police scoured imports last night trying to find evidence that could lead them to an armed robber. the man entered the store with his face covered around 7:00 p.m. and carrying a handgun and forced employees and customers to the back of the store. and then he forced an employee to open the safe and took cash from the registers before taking off. the incident bears the striking resemble to other robberies on long island. like the one at new york and company. >> tied up and trying to run for their lives. >> reporter: at this rainbow on november 2nd, the robber stole directly from the customers. >> i walked into the store. i was robbed. and the guy was like holding

diane macedo has the new information. >> reporter: just a little while ago, we watched as police escorted him out of kings park high school. he is one of 20 students suspended after a sexually explicit video between two teenagers made the rounds of the school. the 15-year-old walked into school without incident this morning but about an hour late, the principal called his father. >> his son is suspended from school as you know. could you please come and pick him up. >> what happens if i don't? >> you know what's going to happen. >> reporter: he says he has yet to receive an official notification and aj insists it's unfair to begin with. >> i don't think i should have gotten suspended at all. i can't someone from sending a text. >> reporter: he says his son didn't watch the video but was still suspended for being part of a group chat. >> last night i got a threatening phone call from the detective precinct that if my son goes to school, we will be arrested. >> reporter: officers told him if he didn't allow them to escort his son out, they would pathing. through being arrested. he did nothi
