and we're joined here in the studio now by didi kirsten tallow journalist an expert on china and hong kong welcome to the program we had this apology from the protesters for the disruption at the airport what do you make of that you know that was a really good step i think because it shows a softness reflectiveness about what's going on and i think it also shows a way towards some kind of a compromise now with the protesters also saying ok this is a really terrible situation but if they make a step forward perhaps the government could consider also coming a step forward and this is this is the only way that this is going to be resolved through compromise at this point however we have seen from the chinese side though you know stronger rhetoric coming from them they now say that these protests are near terrorist acts what do you make of the potential chances that we can see this further defend into a more descent excuse me into a more violent situation you know well this is our huge fear as hong kong is and i can i have to say it's absolutely terrifying for a lot of people the sort of
